Peanut Butter Banana Bites

A frozen treat topped with happiness

Bananas + peanut butter is one of the best food combinations ever made, right up there with dark chocolate + almonds, strawberries + whipped cream, chocolate + pretzels, Nutella + anything...you get my drift. What's great about this delicious duo is that, in moderation, it can make a deliciously satisfying dessert! Bananas have a sweet & creamy consistency (think makeshift ice-cream) when frozen, and natural chunky PB balances that out with some saltiness and crunch.

These banana bites are easy to store, fun-sized, don't take too long to freeze, and you can vary the flavors by adding different toppings - granola, crushed cereal, mini dark choco chips, etc. The hardest thing about making these is having the patience to let them freeze!

First get your station ready:
Storage container, granola, natural PB, sliced banana

Don't slice the banana too thin or the PB:banana ratio will be way off, and it'll be hard to dip the banana slices into your topping. Add a dab of PB to each slice and dip the slices, one by one, PB-side down into the topping. Shake off any excess and place PB-side up in your container.

I like to put frozen treats in a container that has a lid otherwise the food takes on a nasty freezer taste. The container I used is kinda small, so I put a layer of foil on top of the first set of bites and added the rest on top, covered it, and popped it in the freezer. Small bite-sized pieces like these freeze faster than whole bananas, so they're usually done within an hour or two.
Mmmm!

*Note: If a few bites happen to go missing during prep, that's totally normal. Your taste buds will thank you. ;)

Thanks for reading & check back next time for another yummy SA eat!
